Our crowdfunding appeal is live!

Rewards and prizes are available at at our crowdfunding site or tax deductions through the Australian Cultural Fund along with all the details.

We are calling  on the community to help realise some exciting plans for expansion of activities in our hub in the Arts Industry Estate including launch of a regular events program and cafe.

Kulchajam is Byron Bay’s most established artist-run initiative: an arts and cultural venue and community space that supports and promotes arts, culture and sustainability in the region.

We are offering a range of awesome rewards and raffle prizes ranging from festival tickets and music downloads, food, T-shirts and other artisanal products produced on site, to special events in the space and photo shoots with local photographers affiliated with the organisation.

WHY SUPPORT KULCHAJAM?

Kulchajam has initiated and hosted an impressive array of programs from regional digital arts festival, performance art programs, site specific performances in the shire, as well as youth mentoring programs and cultural exchange collaborations with festivals and other community organisations, while running its dynamic performance and event space in the Byron Bay Arts Industrial Estate.

“Kulchajam is a unique grassroots organisation that has brought countless benefits to the region, and now we are asking the community to help us at a really important point in our growth,” stated Matthew Jamieson, local farmer and Kulchajam treasurer.

“We have no recurring government funding so this community support will ensure we can put in place our plans to enable us to deliver more awesome benefits to the community We have some massive projects underway from closing Acacia St for our street market once a month to a brand new events program on site. If we raise the full amount it will ensure we have the capacity to deliver all this and more. We are presently constructing disability access and expanding outdoor seating areas in our garden ready for the opening of a café onsite by July.

“Our projects are diverse and focus on creating a thriving local culture based on cooperation, sharing resources and grassroots sustainability,” stated Chairperson Techa Beaumont.

"We operate an organic food cooperative on site, host countless fundraisers, workshops, skillsharing and classes, and we recently received council permission to close Acacia St once a month for an exciting regular new community event in Byron’s Arts Industrial Estate. We have also ventured as far as Stradbroke Island and Kyogle with a range of youth and cultural exchange activities.”
